Yes…that’s my most popular statement lately when I meet up with people new who asked me how I got my technical skills from given that I’m an econs grad.

I’m proud to talk about the days that I built fayenatics.org, how we host ads before google is around, have a content savvy site before web 2.0 is in, stream media files before birth of YouTube, track visitor rates before google analytics, etc, etc

Looking back, technology has evolved much in the past decade. Keeping myself abreast, I will embark on my freelance project, read up on 2 books gotten from kino over the weekend that talks about GA and social media marketing. Will be attending a half day GA course to learn from the guru…etc.

Ms Faye wong, are u returnig to the scene? If u are, I shall be ready to build 2.0 fayenatics.org for some self entertainment! Hahaha

Camera
I think I’m targetting at Panasonic Lumix LX3 for my 1st digicam investment. dropping the idea of dSLR for the moment.

It seems not available in Singapore yet. Has browsed through some US site and is selling between US380 to US450. Feel review at my favourite camera review site: DPreview This camrea has some retro feel that I like!

Browser
I’m using CHROME, not firefox, not IE, not Opera, not Safari…haha…yes, I’ve listed the major names for the browsers that surfers used out there. Chrome is the latest new kid on the block by Google. Is the fastest browser I ever use…no kidding. Just not much fanciful addons like what firefox has. Google search is built in within the address bar and intuitive suggestions on the destintion site you’re looking out for. Here’s a screenshot:

try it out! I think you’ll love it as much as I do. Internet banking has no issues on it as well. Just intall the latest Java.

PhotoShop CS4 (Codename: Stonehenge)
IS OUT! in fact the entire creative suite is out. Am in the midst of downloading the trial…Shall write more about it when I tested out the software. I think I’ve been using Photoshop since version 4? That was more than 10 years ago…haha…

Ok, just these for the time being. I’m still not a fan of IE, thus IE8 is still not installed on my comp yet. Is not out but I’m not interested in its beta as well LOL! Come to think of it, most google software are always termed as beta…wondering when will the final version be out…

My server was intruded by some hackers who set up some phishing bank sites. Got alert emails from Hostrocket as well as the associated banks on this issue.

Spent almost the 3 hours trying to tighten up security by re-looking into folders for CHMOD permissions and installing some plug-ins for wordpress that will tighten such exploitation.

Emailed hostrocket on some online-read-about solutions for hosting company to play a part as well to tighten the security.

Anyway, very techinical…shan’t talk much here. Daniel, write to me your views on this though
