A simple sharing
One day, an old monk and his disciple was travelling along the mountain range and they met a young and beautiful lady who was having difficulty in trying to cross a river. The young monk did nothing to assist the lady as he thought it was inappropriate to carry a woman on his back. However, the old monk offered to carry the young lady without much hesitant and the lady gladly accepted his help.
After crossing the river, they parted their way and the old monk and his disciple continued their journey. After walking for 5 miles, the young monk finally couldn’t suppressed his feelings and asked his teacher, “Why did you offer to carry the lady on your back? I thought it is inappropriate for monks to do that?” His teacher replied, “I’ve already dropped her many hours ago when we crossed the river. You are the one who carried her for 5 miles.”
Indeed. In life, we tend to carry burdens on our shoulders unknowingly. My dear friends, if you’re reading this piece at this moment, do ask yourself. Have you been carrying a burden that is meant to have let go of much earlier? Have a light-hearted day!
I love these short stories that always teach so much about life
